Richard Smith 1821 to about 1891.

Extracted from the Principal Registry of the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division of the High Court of Justice. 

This is the last will and testament of me, Richard Smith of Great Grimsby, ship builder.

I give to John Wintringham of Great Grimsby, solicitor and George Kendall of Welsby Cottages, herein after referred to as “My trustees” all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever upon trust to realise the same with the discretion of absolute owners and after payment of all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, to invest the same with a like discretion upon real or personal security and to pay the income thereof to my wife for her life and after her death to divide my estate into four equal shares giving one share to each of my three children now living and the remaining share to the child of my deceased son Edwin Bannister Smith. I appoint the said John Wintringham and George Kendall executors of this my Will and declare that the said John Wintringham shall be paid the same professional charges for work done by him in all matters connected therewith as if he had been the solicitor to the Trustees and Executors and had not been named herein as a trustee or executor.
