Mrs. Lily Bannister Brown 1883 to 1945

 A member of the John O’Gaunt Ward Conservative Women’s Committee, Mrs. Lily B. Brown, of 95, Bowerham Road, Lancaster, died in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary on Friday. Well-known and respected in the City, she was interested in many charitable organizations, being a Group collector for the John O’Gaunt Ward Savings, and a collector for the Infirmary and the Earl Haig Poppy Day Fund.

 The Rev. D. Birney officiated at the funeral, which took place at Scotforth Cemetery on Wednesday. Chief mourners were: Mr. W. Brown, husband; Mr. and Mrs. W. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. R. Brown, Sons and daughters-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. J. Whittaker, son-in-law and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. E. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. J. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. P Williams, brothers and daughters- in-law: Mr. P. Williams, nephew; Mr. G. Taylor, friend. Funeral arrangements were by Messrs. William Bowker and Sons.
